Bradlyn Mulvey - President
Bradlyn Mulvey brings a background in education, counseling, and clinical psychology to her role as President of Tierrasanta Village Movement. A native Californian, she began her career as a high school English, Speech, and Debate teacher before earning a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She practiced as a licensed Clinical Psychologist for many years before retiring and moving to San Diego. Her community involvement includes serving on the General Council of Aging and Independent Services and several of its subcommittees.
Bradlyn became involved with Tierrasanta Village Movement in January 2018 after meeting neighbors who were Village members and wanting to become more connected to her community. She quickly became active, serving as Care Committee Chair, Neighborhood Captain, and participating in numerous Village activities. She later joined the Board of Directors as a Member-at-Large, served as Vice President, and became President in August 2026. Bradlyn is committed to fostering connection, support, and a strong sense of community for members as they age in place.

His service to enterprise has been honored by two awards from the Small Business Administration. He has served as president of local and national organizations. He volunteers at his congregation and with several San Diego veteran groups.
When he read about the Village Movement in a national business publication, he wanted to learn about what the Movement was doing in San Diego. After meeting with members of the Tierrasanta Village Movement (TVM), it became clear that he wanted to become involved. At first his interest was primarily social participation, but it became apparent that with his organizational background and grant writing experience that he could make a greater contribution. Prior to serving as TVM’s vice president, he served as its secretary.
Gunnar enjoys many of the TVM’s social activities, but he receives greater satisfaction when he has an opportunity to assist other Villagers. Aside from engagement with church and veteran organizations, Gunnar enjoys walking, hiking and playing bridge.

His past roles in multiple logistical service organizations makes him well suited to oversee TVSD’s financial and technology efforts. His career experience in the service sector positions him well to contribute to TVSD’s mission of providing members the ability to effectively age in place.
Mark was first attracted to the Village Movement through a relationship with his neighbor, TVSD Business Manager Cassandra Hanrahan. Once exposed he embraced multiple opportunities to volunteer his past professional experience towards TVSD enhancing their technology tools and financial management for the benefit of our membership.
When not digesting financial reports or redesigning website pages Mark enjoys time with his partner Denise, his many family members residing in the San Diego area and also taking on DIY home improvement projects at both his Tierrasanta residence and a beach house in Rosarito, Mexico.
Jinny Batterson - Secretary
Jinny Batterson had a varied career—with stints in language teaching before and after several decades of computer programming and systems analysis work. About half of her career was spent in business, about half working for governments at various levels. She has worked mostly in the U.S., but also in sub-Saharan Africa and in China, later self-publishing a travel memoir about some of her China experiences.
Jinny has been a TVSD member since late 2021, shortly after she and husband Jim moved from North Carolina to San Diego to be close to younger family. Arriving in a new city mid-pandemic, she struggled to find community. She was impressed by the way Tierrasanta Village had adapted to keep members both involved and safe. Since joining the Village, she has helped organize a variety of small Village events, starting with a 2022 Southern California version of “Groundhog Day.” She is co-captain of the Portofino/Barbados neighborhood group and has served on our Board of Directors since mid-2025. She recently began serving as Board Secretary. She is very interested in expanding Villagers’ transportation options.
In addition to her Village activities, Jinny enjoys reading, walking area canyons, volunteering at our local library branch, exploring San Diego’s many neighborhoods, and spending time with family.
Laurie Brown - Member-At-Large
Born in Washington, D.C . Laurie spent her first ten years on the east coast. She spent most of her working years as a medical office manager in San Diego and then in Mesa, AZ. After suffering the heat for 17 years in Mesa, she moved to Prescott, AZ. Anticipating the birth of her first granddaughter, she moved to San Diego to help her daughter and bond with her granddaughter.
Laurie has always been very involved with her local churches in advisory roles. This capitalized on the organizational skills acquired while managing various offices. But she was missing close contacts and friendships.
A few years later, she heard about TVSD. She immediately joined in 2017. She was very attracted to all the opportunities to make a lot of new friends. Yoga became her first experience and is still very meaningful to her. She has also registered for many social events. In 2023 she was asked to be a Member at Large on the Board of Directors. There have been a lot of exciting changes; in particular the upcoming implementation of Helpful Village. She is very honored to be a part of the Board as we begin Helpful Village.
Currently, most of her time is spent transporting her granddaughter to soccer practices and games and being a part of her life.

Her volunteer history includes serving as a Girl Scout leader, working with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and participating in a Quilting Ministry. Candy Walsh - Co-Founder
Candy Walsh and her husband, PK, have lived in Tierrasanta/Villa Portofino since 1978. She has been retired since 2005, but as a working mother, she did experience Tierrasanta as a bedroom community. Commuting, raising a family, shopping, and chores left little time to grow neighbor relations. Candy and PK did meet other parents as they reared their son in the community and involved themselves in his school and sports activities but when their son graduated and moved away many of those parent connections became limited to brief encounters in the community. So, how did one build adult social connections in a community where the focus had been on youth activities? Since her retirement, Candy has found many other residents whose experience mirrors her own.
Candy is one of the Founders of Tierrasanta Village of San Diego, and brings a high-level of organizational skill and management competence derived from her 35-year work history that included retail, direct sales, and corporate experience.
Throughout her 20-year career with a large defense contractor, Candy held various security clearances. She organized large events, and worked at executive-level program and project management tasks. Candy interfaced with customers, employees and management at all levels.
Since 1988, she has been the coordinator of a Retiree Group composed of former company executives, engineers and program managers.
Candy’s passion is her family, friends and pets. Her interests include gardening, reading, going to garage sales, Costco, home renovation, and entertaining.
